On Alert

Well, Kitties, the Human is grumpy and when the Human's grumpy, I feel it is my responsibility to be on the lookout for my own best interests (I'll bet you thought I was going to say it was my responsibility to "Cheer her up," or "Comfort her," didn't you? Ha ha ha--c'mon, I thought you knew Spitty better than that!)

No, I am doing my best to curl up, in alert mode of course, and take lots of blissful naps, and hope Monday comes soon so she will have to go back to Work, where the Bad Things are happening.

More Bad Things happened at the dentist yesterday, when she was referred to a specialist who will do a "complicated" root canal (is that like the Panama Canal?) to save her toof  (ka ching! ka-ching! ka-ching!).

Oh NO! Spitty, perhaps UTB is a good place to spend a little time for the next few days. We could come over and play patty-paw...and other things. heh heh. Loan your Mom Mr. Nippy if she gets really out of hand.

Mommy says: I feel bad about the work thing, whatever it is. Hang in there!
As for your tooth, Would it be better to have it extracted and get an implant? That was the option Mr.Crazypants opted for. Less money, less pain.

When my human is not in a good mood, I go disappear. Why subject myself to the bad vibes? I hope that tooth canal, or whatever it is, does not make her bad mood go on endlessly!

Heh, I hope she did not expect me to be sympathetic! Cats don't do sympathy for species outside our own.

Eh, the Woman has had like 4 root canals, but the one that was going to be "complicated" she told the tooth torturer to screw it and just pull the tooth. Since it was a very back one she doesn't miss it.

If a person is grumpy, though, go hide. I'll purr on 'em if they just don't feel good, but grumpy? No thanks. I have a mancat cave to hide in. They can get a stupid drink if they wanna feel better.

must be going around...I have been Grumpy as heck a good portion of today, and yesterday and the day before that LOL!!

I only had one root canal and it wasn't bad AT ALL!! Seriously...get gassed up and it is a breeze!

I have had 2 teeth pulled as well and was knocked out so that was no problem either.
I am terrified of dentists and seriously it wasn't bad!

Spitty, we're sorry your mom is grumpy. I don't blame her - that Panama Canal thing sounds scary and yucky. But I bet they will give her some stuff to make her feel better. And it wouldn't hurt you to show the poor woman some affection either. I know you have your man-cat reputation to live up to, but seriously, if you don't tell anyone about it, who will know?

Hey Spittola, sorry that your Mom has the crabbies. When our Mom first moved to SF and had not much dough, she went to the dental school at UCSF and they did stuff to her teeth for cheap. (dental students with a real dentist supervising)Just a thought. Oh, also, our Mom is scared of tooth stuff but had a root canal done last year and it was a breeze. Just make sure your Mom takes her iPod and puts good music on it and wears it during the procedure. The drilling sound can be a bit annoying. Meow!

We're sorry your mom's not feeling her best! Root canal...ugh. Our mom's only had one, years ago, but it was on a small lower front tooth and it was easy. The one crown she had last year--not so easy! So we're sending good vibes and purrs to your mom, hoping she feels better soon. In the meantime, we suggest you make yourself scarce to avoid her crabbiness!

Spitty, we find that when the human is in a bad mood, it's best to stay clear!!

And tell you mom that our mom totally understands the dentist thing. She had a root canal about 5 years ago...and recently, it failed and she had to have the tooth pulled. Now she's having an implant. Honestly, while the root canal wasn't the greatest, she thought it wasn't as bad as having the tooth pulled and then having to wait 3 months to get the new tooth (that's how long you hafta let it heal after getting the implant).

Spitty, my mom's had a bunch of root canals, none of them too bad. I could scare you with a story, though--about a year ago my mom was so stressed out that she broke the root of a crowned molar, and the things they planned to do to fix it would just curl everybody's toes! At any rate, it turned out to be unfixable and she had to have it extracted. So it could be worse. Plus, your mom will probably get some human nip for later, too.
