Today, I come to you from what passes for counter space in our kitchen. We reside in a building constructed in 1907 (which gives rise to the question: What happened to the building that was here in 1906? Hmmmmmm, but I digress). You'd think, wouldn't you, that such an old kitchen would have extensive counter space? I mean, they didn't have KFC or Taco Bell back then. People cooked! But evidently they did so in tiny, cramped areas.
My Human owns more cups and dishes and platters and bowls than she could use in three lifetimes (a story for another time). Here I am on the other end of the tiny counter. Can you see tantalizing deliciousness there, right at the end?
Yes, my Friends, it's the elixir of life, my Gerbers! I haven't had a jar in quite awhile now, but I have to say I enjoyed just getting up close and personal with them. A boy can dream, can't he? If only. . . if only I had thumbs.

Spitty, I hope you get some Gerber soon. Just tell the Human valuable counter space is being wasted with those jars!
Oh, and about dishware? For decades, my mom was perfectly happy with her Corelle set from 1980. She gets a house, and wham! Five million new plates and stuff we never use appears! Well, we might be downsizing soon and she'll have to get rid of some of it. She just better hang on to my special Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's plates!
Spitty, MomKat says your kitchen reminds her of the one in Mr. Crazypants' house when those two got married! We love your Lilac kitchen; it sets off your fur color so beautifully...and makes the Gerber's STAND OUT!
btw, we gals got all fainty seeing so much of your Manly fizzeek.
Spitty, it's too bad you can't open those jars yourself.
Yes, there is nothing quite like the kitchen in a San Francisco flat. Our Mom lived in a few places in SF with tiny kitchens. That Gerbers fits real well on the counter though, Spitollishious, and that's all that counts.
Thanks for giving us a tour of your kitchen, Spitty-the-Kitty! Our mom loves the look of some older houses, but she loves more the things put in newer houses, like big closets, big bathtubs, and lots of outlets!
Hey Sptiz! It's a dang good thing you're not a Maine Coon! You'd be awful cramped! Love seeing you giving your Gerber attentions!

I had the Gerber stuff recently as a treat - it was pretty good, but I only ate about 1/3 of the jar, so my human refrigerated the rest and heated it, ever-so-gently, a couple of days later. And frankly, it was kinda icky as leftovers.
Spitty, Those jars must have yummy stuff inside !! Let's make a plan to open it !!!
Wow, you found the Gerber stash! Whap it down on the floor, it might open, ya never know!!!
Spitty! I haz an idea! Watcha dew iz take yer paw an pat at them gerbers, pat pat pat jus keep pattin an somehow they gerbers will fall on da floor. Sumtimes they magikally opens when they fall an then vwalah! Then you eats it. Teh end.
The mom can only find Gerbers fruit and veggie varieties in the stores here, so you're lucky, Spitty! We hope you get some soon!
You're certainly an adventurous sort there, Spitty. But then when you have Gerbers at the end of your trek, "The Boys" and I can see why!
Thanks for coming by Kittens 'n Things. We love to meet new kitties.
Hi Spitty! You explored and discovered Gerbers! Next time you must bring an equipment to open it :-) Meanwhile let's dream.....
Posing you NEXT to the Gerber elixir and not serving you any? Surely this is grounds for immediate dismissal of your human for dereliction of duty!
Spitty, I happen to have some Gerber hams...I thought of you...know what I mean?
xoxox
Oh Spitty we did not realize that you were a gerber baby!
:-)
We think your Mom needs to pop open one of those little jars and treat you!
Why is it that there is never enough room for our Mom's in the kitchen?
